PAYLESS Car Rental at JFK Airport

Only 19 miles from Manhattan, JFK International Airport lies in the district Queens, and is a hub for Delta and American Airlines. The airport is linked by bus and AirTrain to Newark and La Guardia airports and well served by car rental companies.

AirTrain is free to use within the airport, where it links all the terminals. Passengers heading to Jamaica or Howard Beach stations must pay for their ride. Tickets cost USD 7.75 per person. Metrocards are available from vending machines at the stations.

If you are taking the bus to NYC locations or other airports, use the free AirTrain shuttle service first. Route A goes to all terminals, Route B also but not to Marine Air Terminal or Delta Shuttle. Courtesy shuttles transfer passengers between the parking lots and terminals 1, 2, 4, 5 ,7 and 8. Route A transportation is operational from 4.00 am to 11.30 pm, Route B runs between 6.00 am and 2.00 am. Both services run at 10 to 15 minute intervals.

Connecting to LaGuardia Airport by bus takes 45 to 60 minutes. Bus operators include ETS Air Shuttle, All County Express and NYC Airporter. If you take a metered taxi cab, the journey takes 30 minutes. Find a Uniformed Taxi Dispatcher in your terminal and ask for assistance. Private limousine and van services are available from the Welcome Center in the Airport Baggage Claim areas.

Take the shuttle outside Baggage Claim, then follow the signs to AirTrain. Exit when the Car Rental/Federal Circle stop is announced, descend the escalator, then turn left.
